About Us

I am Dr. Carol Iaizzi, a Chiropractor.  I grew up in Stamford, CT. and re-located to Staten Island, NY. after graduation from Life Chiropractic College in 1992.   I married my college sweetheart , Dr. Jerry Sciascia , a year after graduation and joined him in his Staten Island practice.  My husband and I practiced together for five years, before I opened our office in Cranford.  I have been in practice in Cranford with my sister Dr. Michelle Cappuccio, for five years.

My husband and I have three children:  Casey 6 years old, Cooper 4 1/2 years old, and Delaney 2 1/2 years old.  All of our children were born at home and received their first Chiropractic adjustments just minutes after their birth.  They are three of the healthiest, happiest children on the planet.

Having children helped me understand my place in Chiropractic.  When you adjust the spine of a child, you help to prevent all kinds of unwanted symptoms and you change their lives for the better for ever.  This is why our focus is on families and children.  Our youngest patients have been just minutes old.  We use very gentle techniques to locate and correct interference to the nerve system.  Children are our specialty.

You may be wondering how I got into Chiropractic.  I’d like to share my Chiropractic story with you, and this seems to be good place to begin since as a child I suffered with many of the things that Chiropractic helps to prevent.

My Chiropractic story began when I was 16 years old.  The principle of  our high school came into the lunch room and asked if anyone was interested in a small, part time position answering telephones in a doctors office.  I answered the request, and the doctor turned out to be a Chiropractor.  That Chiropractor changed my life in such a way that I decided this was to be my destiny.

I had always been a very sickly child.  Right from birth my parents had a challenge at their hands.  I was a transverse breech birth, which means that I was born backwards.  My  rear-end came out first and my head came out last.  During this traumatic birth both of my legs became dislocated and had to be set back into the joint at just hours old.  From that time on my body and especially my immune system, were compromised and I had many rounds of antibiotics under my belt during early childhood.  In fifth grade my vision began to deteriorate, and I needed glasses to see properly.  In seventh grade I developed chronic sinusitis and debilitating migraine headaches.  It was about this time when I came down with a terrible “flu” that left me very weak.  So weak in fact, that I passed out and hit a door head on.  From that time forward I was not able to go from a lying position to sitting without losing my balance and vision for about 15 seconds.  Nor could I move quickly without dizziness and disorientation.

Dr. Bruce Schneider, who was the Chiropractor I worked for when I was sixteen, introduced me to the amazing world of Chiropractic.  Shortly after he began to adjust my spine the awful dizziness began to correct itself.  Soon the headaches, sinus infections and generally poor health all became a thing of the past.  My own incredible changes made me believe that Chiropractic was something I would like to do.  But seeing the awesome difference Chiropractic made in the lives of so many others whose symptoms were far worse than mine, made me believe that Chiropractic was something I must do.

Years later when I was away at college taking the necessary courses to enter Chiropractic school;  I had a slip and fall in the shower and hit my head very hard.  I developed a condition called nysthagmus, which is a condition that affects the eyes.  Your eyes won’t stay steady when you look at something, they jump back and forth.  It wasn’t long after that, I developed a seizure disorder.  There were days when I would have two or three seizures that lasted ten or fifteen minutes each followed by hours of sleep.  I was diagnosed with Grand Mal seizure disorder, and my options were drugs or exploratory brain surgery.  Grand Mal seizures are very exhausting, painful and frightening for you and for the people who can only watch.  I am thankful that my parents chose neither option and instead took me back to the Chiropractor.

Once I began regular Chiropractic care again, the seizures stopped and my eyes returned to normal movement.  I have not had a seizure since 1992.  In the last seventeen years I have not taken anything except an adjustment on a regular basis.  I am expressing 100% life and health thanks to Chiropractic.

I am Dr. Michelle Cappuccio, a Chiropractor.  I have been in practice with my sister, Dr. Carol Iaizzi for 5 years at Lifeline Chiropractic.  Prior to opening our practice in Cranford, I worked as an associate doctor in Bloomfield, NJ. for 3 years.  I was born and raised in Stamford, CT and have lived in New Jersey for the past ten years.  I am married to a wonderful man Michael and have four children, Rebecca 7, Ryan 6, Anthony 4 and Marcello 7 months.

I graduated high school and entered college to study physical therapy.  During the course of my study at Albertus Magnus I began experiencing stomach problems.  My stomach was sore and tender to the touch.  I was having difficulty digesting food in general, but especially dairy products.  My stomach pain became severe it was interrupting my daily routine.  I needed help, so I sought the help of the medical community.  The doctors did numerous tests and asked a million questions.  Their solution to my ailing health was drugs and diet restrictions.   My sister at the time was a Chiropractic Assistant for a Chiropractor in Connecticut and she suggested that I come in and talk with him about what was troubling me.  I thought I should explore another avenue, since the one I was on was not helping me. The Chiropractor, Dr. Bruce Schneider, explained to me how the nervous system controlled every function in the body and how I had a subluxation present in the area of the nerve that went to my stomach.  It all made sense.  I remember thinking in that moment , this is fascinating , this is something I would like to learn more about.  I began Chiropractic care and shortly after that my body resumed normal function and my stomach and digestive difficulties were gone.  I was hooked.  So to make a long story short, I left physical therapy school and entered Chiropractic school.

That was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life.  I have the opportunity everyday to work with people who are in need.  People who want answers to their health problems and who are desperate to learn how the human body works.  People who understand that our body has the potential to heal anything, fix anything, and function on a level much higher than we give it credit for.  I am blessed that something I do, say, or think can have such a life changing effect on so many people.
